XP and wireless issues
If a Windows XP laptop is not redirecting to the authentication page using
the wireless network, perform the following steps:
1. Click Start, Run.
2. In the dialog box type cmd and click OK – a DOS window will open.
3. At the command prompt, type the following all on one line:
netsh int ip reset tcp.txt
4. Press Enter on the keyboard - the command prompt should re-appear below the
line you typed.
5. Close the DOS window
6. Reconnect to the wireless network if necessary – there will usually be an information
bubble in the bottom right of the screen if the wireless connection is lost and there will
be a red X on the wireless network icon in the system tray. Just right-click the wireless
network icon, click the Status tab and click the Repair button.
Note: If the wireless icon is not present in the system tray, you can find it by clicking
Start, Network Connections
7. Open their web browser – the Vernier login page should load.
